May 28, 2025 ASB Georgia, in partnership with the Samaritan Association of Georgia (SSK) organized a
series of stakeholder meetings in three cities of Western Georgia — Batumi, Zugdidi, and
Ozurgeti.
These meetings were conducted as part of the project RISE Georgia – Reducing
Inequality and Strengthening Support for Women in Crisis; funded by the Federal
Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of the Republic of
Austria and ASB Germany.
The project aims to strengthen the social and economic empowerment of women and girls
who are victims of violence.
Participants discussed the existing mechanisms for the prevention of and response to
gender-based violence, as well as opportunities for enhancing these systems at the local
level.
Additionally, in Batumi, stakeholders also discussed another ongoing ASB project:
“Sports, Education, Gender, and Information,” funded by Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
This initiative focuses on the support and integration of Ukrainian women living in
Georgia.
