The SEGI project (Sports, Education, Gender, and Information) is a joint initiative implemented by ASB Georgia, UT, and SSK to support and empower vulnerable Ukrainian individuals residing in Georgia. The project uses sports and education as key tools to promote inclusion, well-being, and resilience within displaced communities.

SSK’s Role: Gender Component
SSK leads the gender component of the SEGI project—a vital part of the initiative that focuses on addressing the specific needs of survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence (DV) among the Ukrainian community in Georgia.
This component is designed to:
•    Empower women
•    Raise community awareness
•    Build the capacity of local stakeholders
to foster a safer and more supportive environment for all.

Nest of Hope (NoH)
A centerpiece of this effort is the "Nest of Hope", a GBV/DV support center established in Batumi. The center serves as a safe space for Ukrainian women, offering:
•    Psychological first aid
•    Individual consultations
•    Referrals to specialized services
•    Group meetings and empowerment sessions
The Nest of Hope promotes healing, dignity, and protection through professional support and community-building efforts.

Awareness and Advocacy
Public awareness is central to the gender component. SSK has implemented targeted information campaigns to:
•    Educate the broader community about GBV and DV
•    Challenge stigma and harmful stereotypes
•    Promote survivors’ rights and access to services
These efforts help reduce barriers to seeking help and contribute to building a culture of zero tolerance for violence.
